Vanilla Pudding
A recipe for homemade vanilla pudding. It is made the old-fashioned way by cooking milk, sugar, flour, eggs, and vanilla on the stove then chilling.

whole milk

cup
granulated sugar

tablespoons
all-purpose flour*

egg yolks

teaspoon
vanilla extract

Dash of salt

Whisk together all ingredients in a saucepan (non-stick recommended).

Slowly bring to a boil over medium heat stirring constantly to prevent scorching.

Boil for 1 minute and remove from heat.

Pour into a bowl and place plastic wrap directly on top of pudding to prevent a skin from forming.

Cool to room temperature then chill thoroughly (at least 4 hours).
*This recipe makes pudding with a thinner consistency than typical puddings. Use an additional tablespoon of flour for firmer pudding.
