Ingredients

For the cake:

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs at room temperature
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup semi-sweet mini chocolate chips

For the glaze:

  • 4 ounces cream cheese at room temperature
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups confectioners sugar sifted
  • 3 tablespoons half-and-half or milk plus more if needed
  • 2 tablespoons semi-sweet mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 12-cup bundt pan.
  2. Whisk together flour, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Beat butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vanilla in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs, 1 at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Add flour mixture in three additions, alternately with buttermilk in two additions, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not over mix.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips. Spread batter evenly in prepared pan.
  7. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick or cake tester inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool cake in the pan for 10 minutes. Remove cake from pan and cool completely on a wire rack.
  9. Top with glaze and garnish with chocolate chips.

For the glaze:

  1. Beat cream cheese, butter, and cinnamon until smooth and combined. Add confectioners sugar and half-and-half. Beat until combined and smooth.
  2. The glaze should be thick enough so it barely runs off a spoon. You may need to add more half-and-half to reach desired consistency. If so, add 1/2 teaspoon at a time.
  3. Spoon glaze over cake. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
  4. Keep cake chilled when not serving.
