  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground mace
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups unsweetened applesauce

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 10- or 12-cup bundt pan

  3. Whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, allspice, mace, and salt in a separate bowl. Add 1/4 cup of the flour mixture to the walnuts and raisins and stir to combine.

  6. Transfer batter to prepared pan and spread evenly in the pan.
  7. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick or cake tester inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool cake in the pan for 10 minutes. Remove cake from pan by inverting it onto a wire rack. Cool cake completely.
  9. Dust cake with confectioners sugar if desired.
