Southern Buttermilk Dressing

Southern Buttermilk Dressing is easy to make, creamy, and flavored with garlic and green onion. Serve it as a salad dressing or dip with vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon minced green onion
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh parsley
  • 1 garlic clove pressed or minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Stir together all ingredients in a medium bowl. Cover and chill for at least 1 hour (overnight for best results).
  2. If a thinner dressing is preferred, stir in additional buttermilk 1 teaspoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.
  3. Serve as a salad dressing or dip. Garnish with green onion slices or chopped fresh parsley.
