Ingredients
For the waffles
1 1/2cupsall-purpose flour
2teaspoonsbaking powder
3/4teaspoonsalt
1teaspoonground cinnamon
1/2teaspoonground ginger
1/4teaspoonground cardamom
1/4cupchopped pecans
3/4cupmilkwhole recommended
2eggs
1ripe bananamashed
1/4cuplight brown sugar
1/4cupmolasses
1/4cupunsalted buttermelted
For serving:
2bananassliced
1/4cupchopped pecans

Instructions
Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, ginger, and cardamom in a large bowl. Whisk in pecans.
Whisk together milk, eggs, banana, brown sugar, and molasses in a medium bowl. Whisk in butter.
Add liquid mixture to flour mixture and stir to until dry ingredients are moistened.
Heat waffle iron. Lightly spray waffle iron with non-stick cooking spray.
Ladle and spread 1/2 batter onto waffle iron and bake according to the manufacturer's instructions. Repeat with remaining batter.
Serve waffles immediately or keep warm on a rack in the oven on the lowest heat setting.
Serve with banana slices, chopped pecans, and syrup.
Recipe Notes
For thinner waffles, ladle 1/3 of the batter for each batch to make 12 waffles.
