The Beach House Red Wine by Douglas Green | Magnolia Days

It’s been a while since I’ve done a wine review. I’ve neglected that portion of the blog. I’ve shared beverages like sangria and a margarita but not specifically wine. It isn’t because I’m not drinking wine. I drink a glass or two almost every single day. It’s more to do with focusing on food and all the foodie events lately. Wine certainly is a compliment to food and I enjoy sipping wine as much as I do cooking and baking. Plus there’s some exciting news I want to share. Before that, let me tell you about The Beach House Red Wine.

The Beach House Red Wine is a wine blend by Douglas Green. I first tasted it months ago. I had it at a restaurant and hoped I would find it at a store. Sure enough, there it was on the shelf at my local grocery store. I bought a bottle and enjoyed it as much as I did the first time. I keep getting it every few weeks which is odd because I typically like to get new and different wines.

Wine blends appeal to a variety of tastes. Each one is unique and they span from light to bold. This one is on the lighter side. It is what makes it a good one for spring and summer. I could see sipping it at a beach house or on the deck while waiting for the grilling to be done. It’s a red wine for all seasons really. I can say that because I’ve been sipping it all throughout fall and winter.

The back label reads “Tastes like: A holiday in a glass”. What a unique description of a wine. It’s a blend of Shiraz, Mourvèdre, and Viognier. Flavors include blackberry, black cherry, and blueberry with a hint of spice. It retails around $9 which makes it a nice price for an everyday wine. It holds up after opening for a couple of days. You can find more information on The Beachhouse website.

Now for the exciting news: I am proud to be a part of the Food & Wine Conference this summer. It is being held July 19-21 in beautiful Orlando, FL. There is an amazing lineup of speakers and I’m one of them. It’s an honor to be among such talented people. It will be wonderful to be with so many of my fellow food bloggers too. I can’t even describe how fabulous it will be to meet them in person. The bonus is all the things I will learn and the new people I will meet.
