Blueberry Crumble Pie Smoothie

Blueberry Crumble Pie Smoothie by Magnolia Days

The heat has become beyond miserable. And the first day of summer was a few days ago. It’s looking like a long, hot, dry season ahead. Of course it is. It’s what we get for putting in new sod. All we can do is try not to cringe too much when the water bill arrives. Meanwhile, one way to cool down is to sip on a tasty Blueberry Crumble Pie Smoothie.

Heat plus humidity equals outdoor sauna. Some of the water we are putting on the new sod is evaporating during the day. It’s taking my breath away when I doing yard work. This week I had to stop twice and come in to cool down. While on the floor in front of a fan, I was dreaming about a cold treat. Ice cream? Nah. Milkshake? Not quite. Fruity smoothie? Possibly.

Okay, I admit I’m not a big fan of smoothies. It’s something I’ve confessed in the posts for my previous smoothie recipes; Nectarine Smoothie and Blueberry Green Smoothie. Why am I not a fan? It’s a texture thing. Most have a slimy factor I can’t handle. Don’t even think about giving me one made with banana.

Blueberries make awesome smoothies. They blend up so nicely. There are no seeds or pulp floating around after blending. Additional flavor possibilities are endless. I decided to incorporate elements from a classic pie often made in summer. It is blueberry picking time. So freeze some of those fresh berries and then get to blending.

Blueberry Crumble Pie Smoothie has all the flavors of a classic pie in a glass. Blueberries, Greek yogurt, oats, and pecans make it a healthy tasty treat.

Blueberry Crumble Pie Smoothie is a scrumptious treat. It’s like sipping on a slice of heaven. Greek yogurt and milk add a creaminess factor the way ice cream or whipped cream does when served on top of pie. Oats, pecans, and cinnamon bring in crumble topping flavors.

What is your favorite smoothie? Or are you adventurous and make lots of different ones? I hope you’ll give this berry pie one a try. Also take a look at Blueberry Oatmeal Crumb Bars and Mixed Berry Crisp for more recipes with blueberries and crumbly toppings.
