Spring has finally arrived! It was official last week. Mother Nature really mixed things up though. The weekend before it was gorgeous with sunshine and almost 80 degree temps. Then came a massive hailstorm. It was the largest hail I have ever seen in my life. It sounded like boulders hitting the roof. We measured a few hailstones and they were almost 3 inches wide. The first night of spring had a freeze warning. Hello, Mother Nature, what’s up???

The start of warm weather makes me want chilled beverages. To clarify, chilled adult beverages. I go for a dry rosé wine or a sangria. However most sangrias I get in restaurants are too sweet. I don’t know if they add a simple syrup or use sweetened fruit. The same goes for mixes in the stores. I keep thinking I’ll make one from scratch and for whatever reason never get around to it.

Eppa SupraFruta Red Sangria arrived at my doorstep. I looked at the bottle and went immediately to the ingredient list. No sugar or sweetener is listed. It lists red wine, fruit juices, and natural citrus essences. Even better is that it is made with organically grown fruits and is certified organic by CCOF (California Certified Organic Farmers).

How does it taste? Eppa sangria is like sipping on red wine with enhanced fruit flavors. The blend of pomegranate, blueberry, blood orange, and acai juices are a great match with the wine. As a dry red wine drinker, this is a sangria for me. It’s nice to know it has about double the antioxidants of red wine. Oh, and the wine is a blend of Cabernet and Syrah which is one of my favorites. I will drink a Syr-Cab any day.

Where can you find Eppa Sangria? It varies for each area. You can visit the Eppa website and use their store locator. You can also buy it on their website (depending on your area). It retails for about $12 a bottle.

Are you ready for warmer weather? I certainly am. I’m also looking forward to having more of this delicious sangria. It’s nice that all I have to do is fill a glass with ice and pour. Chopping or slicing fruit to add in or garnish is optional. Cheers!

How great that it is organic! I was so pleased when I found out about that. I’ve been trying to drink more organic wines and this fit in nicely with that plan.

Olé to springtime sangria…Love that it’s organic…Is the lovely drink getting you in the spirit of a flamenco dance, too?

I don’t know about a flamenco dance. I did enjoy it with a Mexican meal and it went with it very well.

It’s nice to be able to enjoy a drink and no that it is healthy for you. I’m not a alcohol drinker but it’s sounds like a great drink.
